Wanted to play along online with some artist but I had not gotten my hands on Gelatos YET… LOL so went for the next best thing I have on hand….I bought these a while back at the Christmas tree for $2.99 good deal, LOVE THESE wonderful colors……….. First thing was doing a photo transfer on one of the double page journal.I spread my Gesso medium on the page not to thick, then put the photo I printed on my computer{ I use Kodak Printing paper for my photos}now I needed to burnish the photo down real well so there’s no air bubbles..
I used my fingers then a bone folder to make sure. I had a few mishaps .. But redid it and let it dry over night.
Now spray the photo with water bottle so its good and wet, nor rub the layers of paper off. Keep wetting as you go The paper will roll up and reveal your photo, so pretty…
Next I chose red, yellow, and orange. added the colors with my fingers and smeared on the paper, then in water and spread out till I liked the color strength..
Love playing in paints with my fingers.. If the colors to dark just use a wet paper towel and dab it it will lighten the color for you. spray more water and dab again if you want it even lighter.
Repeat with other colors you can even blend them in to each other.
next I added some texture I wanted it to dry fast… then I used more Gesso just a tiny bit smeared and took newspaper and made a print transfer with it same as the photo only take of while still wet. And then used my stencils with some Gesso on my fingers.
Next step I cut three hearts out of gift wrap paper glued them down , then stamped butterflys all around the edges.
then highlighted the bee and butterfly with black ink and a stencil brush. Also added Dragon Flies and a lady bug with my stipple brush and stencil.
then added inspire ,giggle ,create….. Hope you enjoyed the process…..
I definitely have to try that! Very cool.
Lovely colour combo and it looks a lot of fun. Thanks for sharing.
Great page. I haven’t used gelatos either, but these look like fun to use!
