I have been playing with different types of ways to make stencils. I used clear transparent contact paper, it s really hard to get good cuts on this. I thought it would be great for protecting the papers from paint inks or what ever I throw at My home made stencils. I”ve used plastic furniture cover material in the past , also it was real cool because it sticks well to stencil on your paper. But STILL didn’t get a clear cut. I did make some stencils of my own designs of Johhny Depp …{CRY BABY} and Dave Matthews and some others a while back. for glass etching. It took days and was a real long process and I didnt use a coating on them and could only use them a couple times.. But Then I was taking some FREE ART CLASSES on line. From Terri Sproul on facebook. {Tell HER I SENT YOU…} A little plug for a friendly Artist. Any ways she was cutting out photos from magazines using the silhouette’s as stencils glue the photo to card stock place PACKING TAPE TO FRONT AND BACK of photo then cut out. the tape will protect your stencil, from all the fun things You throw at it .. Like Texture magic, spackle plaster, ECT.
